From Gripping to Grounded: How I Stopped Controlling Abundance and Started Trusting the Flow

The Control

For as long as I can remember, money made my body tighten.
When I’d spend it, fear would come over me — my hands would grip, my jaw would clench, and my thoughts would spiral: What if this means I can’t pay my bills? What if I won’t have enough?

That fear wasn’t about numbers. It was about control — the illusion that if I held on tightly enough, I could somehow outsmart scarcity.

But all that did was exhaust me.

The Shift Begins: Rewriting the Story

Last week, I began noticing a pattern. Every time I made a purchase, I would immediately brace for impact.
So, I started journaling about it — and realized how much my body had learned to associate spending with danger.

Then I asked myself: What if money isn’t leaving me — what if it’s circulating through me?

That small question changed everything.

Instead of rationing my food or my joy, I practiced trust. Last Friday, instead of playing it safe, I chose to believe that abundance would meet me if I met it halfway.
And it did. That day, I called in $130.

It wasn’t just about the number. It was proof that when I release control, the flow responds.

The $500 Intention

This week, I set a new intention: to call in $500 — not from pressure or expectation, but from openness.
At first, my fear tried to negotiate: “That’s too much… lower it to $200 so it feels safer.”

But I caught myself. That was the old energy speaking — the one that believed safety came from smallness.

So instead, I said out loud:

“Today, I choose to trust the currency I’m giving and be open to receive $500.”

It wasn’t about the math. It was about declaring faith over fear.

Equal Exchange

When I invest in myself, my experiences, or others, I’m not losing money — I’m participating in an equal exchange of energy.

I offer wisdom, guidance, compassion, and light.
And in return, I receive connection, gratitude, and currency.

Everything I do is part of that circulation.
Time is energy. Money is energy.
Both are meant to move — not be hoarded in fear.

Gratitude and Overflow

When I sat down to list the things money has allowed me to experience — the trip to the mountains, gas to explore, investment in my space, paying back a friend, food to nourish my body — I realized how deeply money already supports my freedom.

Then, when I listed how I create value — my pop-ups in the park, sharing products online, supporting others, guiding with authenticity — I saw the reciprocity.

The flow is already happening.

Raising My Price

This morning, I raised my pop-up session price from $25 to $33 — and instantly felt my energy shift.

33 is a master number, the vibration of compassion, teaching, and divine service. It’s not about charging more; it’s about matching the frequency of what I give.

When I undercharge, I dim my light to make others comfortable.
When I charge in alignment, I honor the value of both giver and receiver.

The Universe mirrors back whatever level I claim as truth — and today, I claimed balance.

My New Money Mantra

“Every dollar I spend blesses someone
and returns to me multiplied in divine timing.”

It’s no longer about control — it’s about circulation.
It’s not about gripping — it’s about grounding.
Money doesn’t define my worth; it amplifies my flow.

The Reminder I’ll Carry

The Temperance card came through for me today — a call for self-care, trust, and patience.
It’s a reminder that balance doesn’t come from control; it comes from faith and consistency.

So I give from overflow, not depletion.
I invest in myself with love, not fear.
And I trust that what flows out will always return — multiplied, aligned, and right on time.

Reflect: Where Are You Holding, and Where Can You Let Go?

Before you close this page, take a quiet moment to check in with yourself.
Place one hand over your heart and the other on your lower belly.
Breathe in, and ask gently: “Where am I still gripping control around money, and what would it feel like to trust instead?”

You don’t need to fix or analyze — just listen.
The more awareness you bring to your own energy, the easier it becomes to create from alignment instead of fear.

Here are three prompts to guide your reflection today:

  1. What emotions arise in my body when I spend money, and what old story are they trying to protect me from?

  2. If I trusted that money was energy in motion, how would I move, give, and receive differently?

  3. What evidence do I already have that when I trust the flow, abundance meets me?

Let these prompts hold space for you — not to judge, but to witness how far you’ve already come.
Write freely, without expectation. The truth will surface gently when your heart feels safe.
