10X is Easier Than 2X Book Reflection (My Journey to Entrepreneurship)
What Shifted Within Me
To give you a little background, I didn’t always dream of becoming an entrepreneur. I used to think my purpose was to work hard and climb the corporate ladder. Looking back now, I just laugh at that version of me—don’t love that for you babe! But honestly, it’s a process to get here, right? Haha.
A couple of years ago, I had a reading that revealed a deeper purpose the universe was guiding me toward. I jumped in fast, full of ideas and potential. I thought, Well, I’ll just put something out there and see what happens.
Now, a year later, I’m scratching my head. I had absolutely no sales and no clear direction. I’m not going to lie—I was devastated. I spent the last six months feeling sorry for myself, convinced I had failed.
But here’s the thing: we can sulk, but we can’t stay there for long. I knew I had to do something. Then came an opportunity to travel to Hawaii, and the moment I arrived, I knew it was my rebirth. Hawaii has always been a place of reset for me—there’s just something in the air that renews you. That’s exactly what happened. It lit a fire in my ass to get back up and try again.
My friend Tara—always an inspiration and someone I can bounce ideas off—recommended I read 10X Is Easier Than 2X. As she described what it was about, I instantly knew: This is exactly what I need.
That’s when it hit me—I’d been holding myself back out of fear and a lack of self-worth. I was avoiding letting the old version of me die, in order to rebirth an evolved version. The old version of me that clung to control and safety is now evolving into a more trusting co-creator with the universe.
I’M BACK, BABY. And I’m ready to share what I’ve learned from this book and how I’m applying it to completely revise my business strategy.
My 10X Vision
Ah, the corporate dream of climbing the ladder—navigating the politics within a patriarchal system full of close-minded individuals. Honestly? That’s a HELL NO for me.
But here’s the thing—I’ve also realized that I cling to the perceived safety that this structure offers. When I really stop to think about it, this job could fire me at any time, for absolutely no reason. So... is that really safety?
I’ve been putting all my eggs in one basket, convincing myself that I’m financially secure here. And sure, I thought I had created the freedom I was craving by working remotely.
And don’t get me wrong—remote work does give me a ton of flexibility. But lately, I’ve started to realize that my definition of freedom is evolving. There’s a deeper kind of freedom I’m after now.
10X is Easier Than 2X by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy is a mindset-shifting book that challenges the conventional belief that success comes from working harder. Instead, it argues that achieving exponential (10X) growth is actually easier than incremental (2X) growth — but only when you’re willing to radically shift your focus, identity, and environment.
In simple terms, it’s a book that flips the idea of success on its head. It says that growing in a big way (10X) can actually be easier than making small changes (2X) — but only if you're willing to let go of what’s no longer working and focus on what you're truly great at.
I took a look at my past to identify points in time where I completely let go of an identity and reinvented myself. I did this after the military when I became a project manager. I let go of the 24/7 work mindset and found balance through remote work. I reinvented myself as a technology leader in multiple spaces. I let go of the mindset around my worth and how much money I should be paid and worked for two promotions within 2 years. Now I am leveling up once again but this time I need to let that old self go. I no longer need to prove my worth and climb the corporate ladder. I desperately want to work in spaces where I am seen and the energy is exchanged both ways.
What I’m Letting Go
I’ve been constantly fighting for my place in rooms I’ve already outgrown. The old 2X mindset had me proving, defending, and over-explaining. But now, my energy is better spent standing with my vision—not against my fear.
That feeling of outgrowing something? It’s loud. Just two years ago, I was battling with my manager every week, constantly feeling like I had to defend myself. I’d start paper trails, get into arguments in front of others, and spiral into anxiety after work hours. I had no peace.
Then nine months ago, I was promoted into a new role—and I completely changed my approach. My peace is now my top priority. Anything or anyone that disrupts that? Cut off from my energy supply.
I no longer feel the need to prove my worth—I am worthy. I’m exceptional at what I do. I bring skills to the team that are not only valuable but unique. I deserve to be in this position, and I hold on to that truth tightly.
With that realization, I know I’m ready for the next chapter. But this one? It’s bigger than I ever imagined. Incremental growth felt safe—a 2X mindset—but it also came with tasks and experiences that no longer align with me.
Now, I’m looking for true alignment in this next leap. And for the first time, I’m crystal clear on what it’s going to take to get there.
My Soul Gift
I’ve recently reconnected with something I’ve known deep down all along — I am a lighthouse. A soft, boho-modern beacon with calm tones, grounded energy, and a light that guides others safely back to themselves. But for a long time, I dimmed that light. I let self-doubt and imposter syndrome convince me that I wasn’t ready — that I needed to do more, prove more, be more. I was operating from a place of lack, thinking I had to build slowly, safely, and perfectly — clinging to the familiar even though it didn’t fit me anymore.
Reading 10X is Easier Than 2X helped me see what I was really doing: staying busy with the 80% of work that wasn’t aligned with my true purpose. I was trying to grow my business in small, controlled ways — but that’s not what I’m here for. I was caught in the 2X mindset, stretching myself thin and trying to help everyone instead of focusing on the deep, transformative work I’m meant to do with the women who are truly ready.
The truth is, I’ve already walked through the storm. I’ve already done the hard work. And now, the call is to go deeper, not wider. To stop hiding behind safety and fully own the light I carry. There are women stuck in self-doubt, burnout, and fear — just like I was. And they need to hear my story to remember their own power.
This isn’t about doing more — it’s about letting go of what no longer serves and stepping fully into the 10X transformation I’m being called into. I’m not here to build slow and small. I’m here to lead with soul.
Who I’m Meant to Help
I used to think I was the only one who felt stuck — torn between wanting more for my life and being terrified to let go of what felt familiar. I was burned out, constantly overthinking, and quietly questioning whether I was even capable of building the vision I dreamed of.
But what I’ve realized — especially after reading 10X is Easier Than 2X — is that I was trying to grow the wrong way. I thought I needed to do more, push harder, and be everywhere. That’s the 2X path — it’s familiar, it’s “safe,” and it’s also exactly what keeps us playing small.
The truth is, so many women are stuck in this same cycle. Brilliant, driven, powerful women who are silently struggling. They’re trying to fit themselves into boxes they’ve outgrown. They’re living in survival mode, afraid to trust the bigger vision on their heart because it feels too bold, too risky.
That’s why I share my story — not because I have all the answers, but because I’ve been there. I’ve repeated toxic patterns. I’ve doubted my worth. I’ve ignored the gifts I was meant to lead with. And I’ve also made the decision to choose myself — to take one aligned step at a time toward the 10X version of my life and business.
If my story helps just one woman feel seen in her moment of doubt — if it helps her realize she’s not broken, she’s evolving — then it’s worth it. You’re not alone, and you don’t have to keep doing life the hard way. There’s a lighter path. A freer one. And it starts with choosing the vision that’s been calling you all along.
Where I’m Headed Next
Choosing the 10X path isn’t about doing more — it’s about becoming more you. It’s about finally trusting that the version of you who feels the most alive, most grounded, most at peace… is the one who leads the way. I’m not building from pressure anymore. I’m building from purpose.
I used to think I had to earn my right to shine. Now I know — the lighthouse doesn’t chase ships. It stands rooted and radiant, guiding others home by simply being what it is.
So this is me, choosing alignment over approval. Depth over distraction. Impact over overwhelm.
This is me letting go of the 2X version of myself — the one who stayed busy, stayed hidden, stayed small — and rising into the 10X transformation I was always meant for.
If you feel like you’re stuck between the life you have and the one you know you’re meant for, I hope this gives you permission to let go of the safety net and follow what lights you up. Your story matters. Your gifts are needed. You’re not too late — you’re just getting started.
Let’s rise — not by force, but by choosing what’s already ours.
5 Simple Ways to Start Taking Your Power Back
1. Pay Attention to Your Body
If something feels off—like your chest tightens, your stomach sinks, or you feel drained—that’s your body trying to tell you the truth. You don’t need to explain it. Just notice it.
2. Write a Letter to Your Younger Self
Imagine the little version of you is sitting next to you. What would you say to help them feel safe and loved? Write it down. Let them know you’re here now—and they’re not alone anymore.
3. Practice Saying One Loving No
You don’t need to change everything overnight. Just try saying no one time today to something that doesn’t feel good. You can be kind and still protect your peace.
4. Create a 5-Minute Check-In
Start a tiny ritual just for you. Light a candle, write one sentence in a journal, take a deep breath, or pull a card if you’re into that. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about reconnecting to you.
5. Look for Your People
Spend time with people who make you feel safe, heard, and supported. Even if it’s just one person or an online space—it matters. You don’t have to do this alone.
